Requesting the Division of Highways name bridge number 44-029/09-001.26 () (44A062), (38.55586, -81.25884) locally known as LITTLE PIGEON BRIDGE (CSWB), carrying CR 29/09 over BIG SANDY CREEK in Roane County, the "U.S. Army PFC Gale Hall Memorial Bridge".

Whereas, Gale was born August 18, 1931, in Amma, Roane County, West Virginia, the son of the late Carl Hall and Mrs. Lucy Hall Scites. He attended Amma Grade School and Spencer High School; and

Whereas, PFC Gale Hall enlisted in the army on January 15, 1951, at Canton Ohio, receiving his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He arrived in Korea on September 4, 1951, serving with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. After participating in the battle of "Bloody Ridge", was chosen for guard duty with the U.N. truce team. He was later sent back to combat and was killed on November 24th, 1951, during an enemy attack. In addition to an award of the Purple Heart, PFC Hall received the Korean Service Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge for excellent performance in battle; and

Whereas, It is fitting that an enduring memorial be established to commemorate U.S. Army PFC Gale Hall and his contributions to our state and country; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to name bridge number 44-�029/09-�001.26 () (44A062), (38.55586, -81.25884) locally known as LITTLE PIGEON BRIDGE (CSWB), carrying CR 29/09 over BIG SANDY CREEK in Roane County, the "U.S. Army PFC Gale Hall Memorial Bridge"; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to have made and be placed signs identifying the bridge as the "U.S. Army PFC Gale Hall Memorial Bridge"; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House forward a copy of this resolution to the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
